Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

I belong to a County Team that started in forming in 2007 after local Chiefs realized that they could no longer fund department based teams. They decided to gather all of the tech rescue trained people together and let them form a county wide team. Years later we have what is now the Essex County Technical Rescue Team. The team is a 50 member team with 3 truck & trailer units and 1 heavy rescue and have recently added 2 rescue dogs, all strategically located throughout the county. We specialize in Rope,Confined Space,Trench and Collapse Rescue.

We were able to find funding through some grant opportunities and some local donations but these days all of that seems to be slowly drying up. I am sure that every team is probably feeling the same pains that we are, but I was wondering if any teams might have some other funding ideas that we haven't tried or heard of in our area.
