Where firefighters come to talk training

I am looking for some training info on foam. My whole county rarely uses foam and when we do I don't think it is right. Please send me any training info on how when and what to use foam on.

Thanks

You're right. We also use food coloring in re-used 5 gal foam pails with just water to help app.operators to see when they first get foam pick-up at various pressures, nozzle settings, aginst head pressure, etc. It really helps in any dept. using automatic nozzles and portable educotors.
Jason - Take a look at the IFSTA manual this will have a great deal of information regardign foam. Furthermore I would like to invite you to the HazMat News and training group Todd MCKee
Jason,

Could you be more specific on the type of foam training you are interested in?

There are so many types of foam A, AFFF AR-AFFF and so on what is each used for and percentages for use and best coverage.
Jason,

The first thing I would do is google firefighting foams and go to the manufactures websites. This should give you some base information. In my experience we use class A foam about 100 times more often than class B foam. I also prefer 1% over 3 or 6% concentrates. You can produce more finished foam that way. We often will use class A at .1% for mop up and over haul operations to get better penetration and saturation.
