Where firefighters come to talk training

Here is one for you. I am looking for information to respond to a dermal exposure of KCN or NaCN in an aqueous solution. I 'm looking for secondary exposure to responders, time frame to administer exposure kit, decon procedures, PPE, any information on LD 50, acute effects different from HCN exposure. There is no potential for inhalation of HCN so this information does not pertain to this response directly. Let me know what you find or contact me if you have had this response.

First Responder at the operational level. Those persons who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous materials as part ot the initial response to the incident for the purpose of protecting nearby persons,the enviroment,or property from the effects of the release.First responders at the operational level are expected to ;
Respond in a defensive fashion to control the release from a safe distance and ---keep it from spreading.
Analyze a hazardous materials incident to determine the magnitude of the problem in terms of outcomes by completing
the following tasks.
Idenify the containers and materials involved,determine whether hazardous materials have been released,and evalutate the surrounding conditions.
Collect hazard and response information from MSDS CHEMTREC/ CANUTEC/SETIQ,And report to local ,state,and federal authorities,and etc.
Predict the behavior of hazardous material
Estimate the potential harm
Plan and initial response within the capabilities and competencies of availiable personnel,
Describe the response objectives for hazardous materials incidents.
Describe the defensive options available
Determine whether the personal protective equiptment provided is appropriate for implementing each defensive option/
Identify the emergency decontamination procedures

Protect
Develop a defensive plan of action
Implement the planned response to control a release from a safe distance (initiate . defensive actions to lessen the
harmful incident known---and keep it from spreading..
Fire and emergency services organizations commonly respond initially to a variety of hazardous materials incident.
