At 5:40pm on August 7, 2011,Ryan French说过…: Glenn or anyone else has anyone ever heard of a "Klondike". I am a probationary firefighter with a paid department in upstate NY (Albany FD). The money that the guys in the station put together to buy regular station staples is what the call a klondike. I have searched allover the internet for the orgin and all i can find is about the river and gold rush. If that is the orgin do you now how and why the term madr it to the fire service. I have found that there a several other departments that use the term.
