Bio:
Michael Lloyd began his fire service career in 1980, serving with a variety of career and volunteer departments throughout this time. He is currently serving as the Chief of York Fire Department, a combination fire department providing Fire and EMS services to the City of York, York Rural Fire District. Also, the York Fire Department provides ALS Ambulance services to all of York County. Michael is a Part Time Instructor with the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Training Division since 1997 teaching HAZMAT, Incident Command, Building Construction and Fire Instructor among courses. He is serving as a Director for the Nebraska Society of Fire Service Instructors. Michael is involved as a mentor in the Teammates Mentoring program helping youth become prepared for their futures.

How Well Do You Know Your Crew?

As the leader of your crew, do you know the people you are working alongside? I spend nearly as much time with my crew as my own family. If I want to successfully lead my crew I need to know as much about them as they will allow me to know.
