We're having a company staffing issue (FF Union against City). We have 142 company in service = 69 engines (staffed with 4), 51 ladders (staffed with 3), 2 heavy rescue (rope rescue staffed with 4), 6 light rescue (salvage, water and ice rescue staffed with 4), 1 hazmat unit (staffed with 4), 1 heavy rescue (trench unit staffed with 2), 3 tankers (staffed with 1), 2 air unit (staffed with 2), 1 command post unit (staffed with 2) and a few other. We want to staffed all our initial call unit with a minimum of 4. So, all ladders should be at 4.

Since 2007 we're implementing EMS+defib in all our 66 firestations.

We're 2300 uniformed FF and about 400 civilians.

Every shift need 495 FF in duty.

We're a french speaking department but we deliver services in both official langages (english and french).

We serve and protect 1.8 millions citizens
Bio:
I'm lieutenant at station 20 (downtown, chinatown and old Montreal area) shift A1. Our house as an engine (220) and a ladder (420).

We do EMS+Defib since march 2009. So, i'm certified!

Our firehouse respond to about 1700 calls a year. Now, with EMS we can double these calls.
