Passion overflows in the fire service in forms of pride, dedication, commitment and sacrifice. Modern society with our "overwhelming" connection to media has pros and cons. The ability to share your passion is certainly on the positive side of the coin. Fire Engineering is certainly a leader in fire service training, news and information. Add to their repertoire developing the next generation of Firefighters, Officers, Instructors and Leaders. This training community is a testament to this dedication and foresight. Skills are honed, while writers molded. Use this platform as an opportunity to receive feedback and critiques while moving forward with your passion. Need proof? Since December of 2011, I have been using this canvas to fine-tune my writing skills. To date 25 blog entries posted to my personal page, many featured in the FE Daily Email blast, I have been a guest on a Fire Engineering Blog Talk Radio show and now my first main site article is live. Some times, it really seems we are overburdened with the quick and simple status updates and one-liners of this media revolution. Keeping an eye on what has substance and knowing the difference is critical, more so when it pertains to our profession. Fire Engineering has been a cornerstone of the Fire Service for over 130 years and will continue to lead the pack. If a link comes from this arena please give it your attention. This community has encouraged new talent while ensuring quality is priority. Thank you to all the staff of Fire Engineering and FDIC for being such a pillar in the Fire Service, you allow us to expand and share our passion.
