Apr. 10—The Vallejo (CA) Fire Department put out a three-acre, three-alarm blaze near the Carquinez Bridge and Glen Cove on Saturday morning.

At approximately 8:41 a.m. the VFD was dispatched to a fire that began near Interstate 80 near the bottom of the nearby hill, according to VFD spokesperson and firefighter, Kevin Brown.

“The fire burned uphill and eastward, but was stopped midslope, well before there was any threat to residences at the top of the hill at Waterview Terrace,” Brown said. “There were no injuries and no evacuation or shelter-in-place orders.”

The progress of the fire was stopped at approximately 9:30 a.m. and put under full control at 10:08 a.m. The cause of the fire is still unknown, according to Brown.
